A Little Used Affiliate Marketing Technique
If you want to build a successful affiliate marketing business you have to work at it. Now when I say work, I mean you need to invest some time and a little cash to gain that competitive edge.
So, where does the competitive edge come in?
It's basic marketing – you must have a USP (Unique Selling Proposition).
Lots of affiliates "get" the importance of having a USP. Unfortunately, they don't implement it all that well. I wonder if you've seen the same "pre-selling" pages as I have with either completely irrelevant bonuses or, probably even worse, so many bonuses that the original offer gets swamped!
Here's the smart way of creating a USP..
Look for relevant products with PLR (Private label Rights). Use that relevant PLR product as a basis for your own exclusive ebook or report that you can use to add real value to the offer. (The "Vault" site looks dreadful, but it's one of my secret weapons and my go to source for PLR products – Don't be put off by the horrible design of the Vault site!)
You have to make your exclusive bonus report look both valuable and exclusive so..
Get your favourite designer to create an ecover for your report and have an OpenOffice or Word template created to brand your ebook and give it that extra "wow" factor.
Now add that ebook to your pre-selling page and see how it increases the perceived value of your offer. Emphasise the fact that your bonus is exclusive to you. Add scarcity to your offer by limiting your bonus to the first 50 people who buy the main product through your link.
Then watch your affiliate earnings increase!

Great tip John! I'm currently working on applying tips like this to help promote my new web audio marketing service, such as giving away a free mp3 player and eventually an original audio recording guide eBook.

Brilliant advice John.
I'm going to implement this on one of my existing promotions.
John ….I like your no-nonsense style..it's believable unlike much of what masquerades as "Great Tips and Advice"
As a newbie to Affiliate Marketing the Web chatter is well… kind of confusing from a Techie point of view. You probably have already done this in your Membership site but can you do a step by step tutorial(for Newbies) on the exact process?
Signed :- TechChallengedGuru mmmmh there's an idea!

Thanks for the tips John. I think you should write one daily
There should absolutely be some USP along with your main product but not so much that it distracts from it. I think 3-4 free items with the main is a good number. And it doesn't matter if it's someone else's stuff.

Thanks for the reminder, John. I remember almost twenty years back a colleague consultant every time we went out on a sales call repeating, "USP! USP! USP! How are we going to differentiate ourselves from McKinsey?" I still need to be reminded, and your note jogged my memory as I sat down to write an ad just now.
Well done, John.
Thank you for the reminder.
USP is like many acronyms. We see, hear, read but often don't, really, understand. Often we see only the acronym–not the philosophy or meaning behind it.

Excellent advice as always John and a good encouragement for people to take action!
Take care
Paul
It is funny how we can often forget the fundamentals.
Generating a USP is a skill that is often underestimated though. A USP that's the same as your competitors is not, by definition, a USP.

Great point about using the PRL as free gifts and ebooks.
Do you ecovers have to be the same title as the article title.
I will check out that vaults page. I am also getting info on a great place that automatically loads your blog with fresh content and it's free.
