How Not To Do Business…

One of my pet hates is the intrusive telephone call. When I want to buy something, I like to be in charge of the process, I'll do my own research and I'll choose to buy from the people who match my specific needs. I don't want to be sold to when it suits the vendor.. I want to purchase to suit my schedule.

That's why I've signed up the the privacy service offered by my telephone service provider. I have caller ID, I also have the ability to block calls from specific numbers and I use voicemail to screen calls.

It's a system that works well for me, especially when I'm writing articles, blog posts or ebooks, using Dragon Naturally Speaking. And I certainly don't want to be disturbed while I'm recording podcasts or videos!

That's why I was really annoyed to be disturbed by an International call from a Talk Talk telesales operator. Unfortunately my system doesn't allow me to block incoming calls from overseas.

But just because I can't block their incoming calls doesn't mean I will ever be interested in buying from them.
